Measuring just 3.7 x 3.7 x 1.0 mm and delivering a digital output signal, the SFH 7740 is a ready-to-use optical switch that eliminates the need for additional signal evaluation logic.

Using a reflective mark rather than magnets, it overcomes magnetic interference problems associated with Hall sensors in position-sensing applications, and it performs extraordinarily well at extremely short distances (0.5 mm).
