Follow the band of inspiration - the OSRAM Opto Semiconductors booth at electronica 2010
The Exhibit Design Award was inaugurated in 1986 to highlight the best trade fair booths worldwide. The award winning booths were developed by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors once again in conjunction with the design office of Bachmann-Kern & Partner – with great success. With the awards for the 2010 booths the two partners have added to their successes of 2008. The booth for electronica 2008 won many awards. These included the ADAM Award in Gold, the iF Communication Design Award and the Red Dot Communication Design Award. It was also nominated for the 2011 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, the country’s most prestigious official design award. And now we can add the American Exhibit Award.
Follow the band of inspiration
The jury was impressed by the idea behind the booth, not just the technical aspect of the products. The design of the booth reflected the innovative nature and the diversity of LED technology, making it stand out from other booths. Under the slogan of “Follow the band of inspiration”, the OSRAM Opto Semiconductors booth signaled that light can do more than just illuminate rooms, it can be used as a design element to give rooms interest and structure. The slogan acted like a thread through the presentation and design. All the areas of application such as Home + Office, Outdoor and Hospitality were linked into a harmonious entity, and visitors were able to see for themselves how the light color and brightness can be individual adjusted with the aid of light emitting diodes. The booth not only demonstrated the extensive possibilities of LED technology but also offered an element of utmost importance: inspiration for the future.
