Hello! My name is Désirée Queren. I am 26 years old and have an engineering degree in materials sciences.

I made my first contact with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors at a specialist lecture during my studies. This was kept going by an OSRAM employee who is now one of my colleagues in the development department. Once I had completed my degree, I contacted him and was fortunate enough to get my current position studying for my doctorate.

My daily work involves planning, programming and evaluating epitaxy runs for manufacturing laser structures in an MOVPE unit. I also investigate the material quality for the individual layers of these laser structures and the way the influence the performance of the laser.

At OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, I particularly value the way I am well integrated into the various research and development projects, being directly involved in the development of new products and the enormous scientific expertise.
