Since November 2008, there is an onsite company-owned day-care facility for children at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors’ Regensburg location. Here employees of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors can get a high quality low-cost daycentre for their children ages six months to three years.

With the day-care centre "Lichtzwergerl" we have created a space for toddlers and infants, where they not only feel comfortable but are also attended to by qualified educators and are encouraged to learn through highly interactive programs. Our partner, the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V., sets and maintains the general and individual educational programs at our facility, in addition, they also advocate the personal and social development of the children enrolled.

The day-care centre relieves and supports the parents by:

• Work-friendly operating hours: Operating hours to fit the needs of parents are from 5:30 am to 8:00 pm.
• Limiting the number of days we are closed allowing the parents to arrange their holiday individually without being bound to the holiday regulations.
• Providing the best development opportunities by exclusive offers like e.g. early musical education, children's playground, sport activities and play groups for the smaller children
