OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has a broad network of partners in the scientific community with connections at universities, universities of applied sciences and research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute. In addition, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors offers programs  for Ph.D. students and graduates. We actively encourage the dialogue between theory and practical applications and promote joint projects while developing the next generation of research and development teams. These partnerships and initiatives prepare the way for new and pioneering achievements.

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is also active in projects run by the public sector. Our company is:

• a member of various research partnerships funded nationally as well as internationally
• focus projects are for example TOPAS 2012,  POLO, OSIRIS, MOLAS, HEMILAS, SMASH, ORAMA, SSL4EU just to name a few, mainly supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF)) and the European Commission under the 7th framework program
• an initiator of publicly-funded national and international projects.
